Faridah graduated with a
B.Sc. in Horticulture from UPM in 1996 following her completion of her Diploma
in Agriculture. Like Kamal below, Faridah is no stranger to Mycorrhiza
propagation as she worked as the founder‟s Research Assistant. Faridah is also
acquainted with biotechnology having worked on tissue culture in 1995 and
bio-control in 1991 as a Research Assistant.
Faridah is also
responsible in monitoring the production of all commercial microbial products
in MYAGRI. Faridah currently holds a dual role. One in ensuring that production
meets the intended target and the second role is in ensuring production meet
the exact standards required for product efficacy. In the latter capacity,
Faridah has formulated a simple Quality Control and Assurance Test for clients
who wish to verify the quality of MYCOgold. The ability to verify the content
of the product is an important consideration in assuring clients of the quality
and claims of the product.
Kamal who graduated from
UPM with a B.Sc. in Agriculture, 1995 joined MAH in April 1997. His prior
experience includes a stint at Intra Delta as a Technical Executive and as a
Research Assistant to Dr. Azizah Hashim. Thus he is well acquainted with the
development of Mycorrhiza up to the current stage of commercial application.
Kamal is responsible in
ensuring that the commercialization gap between the lab and field is in order
to ensure product efficacy and compliance to standard and regulatory affairs.
In addition, Kamal heads
a team of Technical Advisors responsible for frontline marketing activities
such as the dissemination of product information, new client acquisitions, the
maintenance of client relationships and product trials. Kamal and his team are
also mainly responsible for meeting the Group‟s annual sales targets.
Shahariza graduated from
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in B.Sc. in Accountancy and is currently a
Member of Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). She started her working
career in a tissue culture based company and later moved into the manufacturing
sector. She has been with Malaysian Agri Hi-tech Sdn Bhd since 1999 and has
been responsible in ensuring steady cash flow and prudent financial spending of
the Company.
Shahariza has received
training in finance and venture capital scenario and has been able to help
Malaysian Agri in its series of fund raising exercises. She has also developed
all the SOP and policies of the Company in order to ensure strong Corporate
Governance implementation in Malaysian Agri.
Jafni is a one of the
Founders and a Partner of independent private equity management firm Vida
Partners Sdn Bhd. He was also the Associate Director of Commerce-Ventures and a
senior member of the
Management Committee.
During his tenure in Commerce-Ventures between 2000 and 2007, he was primarily
involved in fund raising and a full range of investment activities. His last
position was head of Commerce Agro Ventures Fund, a collaboration with Bank
Negara Malaysia.
During his tenure at
Commerce-Ventures, he has served as director on numerous board and executive
committee in the portfolio companies for both private and public companies. In
Commerce-Ventures, he was not only involved in managing portfolio companies but
also hands on in the investment sourcing, structuring, negotiation and driving
the exit process as well.
Before joining
Commerce-Ventures, between 1991 to 2000, he was with Bank Bumiputra and then
the CIMB Group. His main responsibilities then were in areas of corporate
lending, capital markets and investment and financial advisory.
He studied at the
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom.
Norhalim is the Chief
Executive Officer of Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC).
Graduating from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a biologist by training, he
joined MTDC in 1993, a few months after its inception, and has been
instrumental in the commercialization of research results of local universities
and research institutes.
Currently, under
Norhalim’s supervision, MTDC’s Technology Development Division manages several
government technology development programs including Commercialisation of
R&D Fund (“CRDF”), Technology Acquisition Fund (“TAF”), Technology
Acquisition Fund for Women (“TAF-W”), and technology incubators and garages in
three major universities – Universiti Putra Malaysia , Universiti Kebangsaan
Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
Norhalim started his
career with Malaysian Oil Palm Growers’ Council in 1987 before moving to
Guthrie Plantation & Agricultural Services Sdn Bhd in 1991. He served as
the Assistant Manager responsible for the production and sales of oil palm
planting material and agrochemicals, as well as providing technical services to
oil palm estates.
Rahimi is currently the
Engineering Manager of the Development Board of State Agriculture of Pahang
(LKPP). Having received his BEng (Agriculture) from University Putra Malaysia
in 1986, he was involved in his own plantation amounting to 100 acres of land
before deciding to join LKPP Corp Sdn Bhd in 1996 as a mill manager for the
Engineering Division.
Kuldip is currently
successfully running her own Marketing and Investment Consultancy “vsioni”
together with a team of Middle Eastern Partners offering trade and investment
opportunities to Middle Eastern and Asian clients. Prior to this she has held
several international positions, most notably: Managing Director Eunox Pte
Singapore, Managing Director Eunox AB Stockholm, Business Development Manager
Attar Travel Riyadh, Managing Director K&A London. Kuldip has spent
considerable time serving on the committees of a number of charities in various
countries.
